Hello to you all!
I was sitting here wanting to write this month’s post and ironically had got in my own way.
How did I do that this time?
I was trying to impress you with all my creativity learning – I wanted you to see what a clever thing I was.
HA!
By wanting to BE something I was already disconnecting myself.
By disconnecting – I was already getting in my own way.
My post was flat to read…I was boring myself.
Shall I publish it anyway?
A little voice asked.
My body was very much saying no.
I had an icky feeling in my belly – my shoulders were tightening as I re-read it with the view of “it will do I guess.”
But that’s not me.
That’s not my commitment to being in this space.
So here I sit again – with a fresh document open – re-thinking about how I get in my own way.
I wanted to tell you that if you did all the right things – then obstacles are a meh – a not much – a little step over or around.
We know that’s not true.
Obstacles are a part of life.
Our own growth and learning is a part of life – and really that’s what the obstacles are.
Blocks are signs that you are in something – probably in something rather special.
Your blocking is a sign that you have something interesting to learn about yourself.
Thinking of it this way – the best way to get out of your way is to stand in it all.
Stand in it all without judgement of ourselves.
Pulling the veil away of how we think things should look, should be.
How we think we should feel – should behave.
Let ourselves turn up as we are, speak as we feel, handle it as we can and grow from that.
Be nice to yourself about it all.
Find the people who can support and understand you through it.
Relax where possible – speak lightly “oh look I’m doing that thing again.”
Awareness and kindness could well be the best salve we can give ourselves these days.
I already feel better for being honest with you.
